Not at all. What are zines selling? The whole point of zines is decentralized information sharing.

Also, Anthony pointed out to me that some art magazines label themselves a “zine” in order to target and sell to a specific a demographic…. those aren’t the zines I’m talking about. I’m talking about the stuff on zinelibrary.info and such.
I guess some people might sell zines to make money. That still doesn’t seem like advertising to me, but personally I don’t think zines should be sold for more than the cost of materials.
When I do zine tables at shows and occupy events I give away all my zines for free.
